Popular dishes in Chile

The aim of this report is to give information about what people can expect to eat in Chile, especially in Santiago.
Being such a long country stretched over a variety of landscapes, Chile has a vast range of food and drink.
One of the highlights of Chilean Cuisine is its diversity of Seafood dues to its 4,270 km (2,647 miles) of coastline. Another thing not to be missed while in Chile is its high quality red wine.
Chilean food should not be confused with the spicy dishes common in Mexico. Unlike Mexican meals, the hot chili is not too frequent in Chile.

Among the most popular in Santiago we have:
Empanada de pino:typical turnover filled with diced meat, onions, olive, raisins and a piece of hard-boiled egg, baked in earthen or plain oven.
Bistec a lo pobre: beefsteak, French fries, fried onions, topped with a couple of fried eggs.
Cazuela de vacuno: beef soup with pieces of meat, potatoes, corn on the cob, carrots, onions, green beans, garlic, chunks of pumpkin, rice or noodles.
Ensalada chilena: sliced tomatoes and onions with an oil dressing.
Humitas: boiled corn leaf rolls filled with seasoned ground corn.
Pastel de choclo: a typical Chilean summer dish. Ground corn and meat, chopped onions small pieces of chicken, pieces of hard boiled egg, olive raisins - baked in clay or regular oven. Similar to a shepherd pie.
Machas a la parmesana: parmesan cheese raisor clams.
Mariscal: cold soup with all kinds of raw seafood.

The least popular dishes in this area are:
Curanto en hoyo: Traditionally prepared by heating fish, seafood, potatoes, some meat, milcaos and types of bread over red hot rocks in a hole in the ground. The food is wrapped in big leaves and then covered with dirt so that it slowly cooks over a number of hours. (Similar to a hangi in New Zealand)
Milcaos: Grated raw potato squeezed until dry then added to minced cooked potatoes and flattened to a bread-like form then baked or fried. This is one of the ingredients that can be found in a typical curanto.
They both are not popular in Santiago beacause they are typically from the South of Chile and here people do not have time to prepare such a taking long time dish.

To end it could be said that the most popular with young people could be bistec a lo pobre, beacuse young people usually like french fries, meat and eggs. Even thouhg cazuela de vacuno is very nutritious, I would not dare to say it would appeal with them beacause they do not usually like soup.
It could be a good idea they to try the variety of salad that we have here and seafood, because they are healthy but if they want to try something different I would recommend to try pastel de choclo and humitas.

Nothing can be done to save the environment

To say that nothing can be done to save the environment seems to be rather fatalistic and categorical. Personally, I think that is a defeatist thinking and that is not really calling us to burden with enviroment. I think we all are in charge to take care of it.

Maybe it is proper ask ourselves how we can do that. Firstly, we all can start by not litter the citty, not abuse of aerosol sprays which attempt against the Ozone Layer , to own eco-friendly cars, which means that they to give off low quantities of carbon monoxide, recycling paper and glass , to keep aware of the last ways to care the environment.For example in Europe an important univerity is doing a research about how to do clothes with products that are eco-friendly with the environment. Consequently, this says to us that we can not stop in care about it what is more, we have to make efforts on it and make the people around us aware about the environment. It is a job of everyone as a collective group and personally and it should be present in every political matters as well.

To conclude I strongly think that to save the environment is a job of every of us and it is urgent to take the measures mentioned above if we want our sons and grandsons to have a place where to live.

I am always being late at doing my college assingments

My problem is I am a very disorganized and distracted. You may think how this relations with the fact I had been late at doing my assingments. It was a very busy week and I had to do a 2 assignments per day. If we add I am very disorganized and distracted to the all of quantitty of college duties, it resulted I hardly I could do 3 of the total.
So I was almost failing in everything but luckily I had the chance to do some for a second time.

What do you think of my story? What should have done?

Should computer based programmes or studying online replace real classes?

I don´t think computer based programmes classes can not replace classroom classes, instead I would say a online class could be a complemement. Thus, for example, the teacher gives an assingment which Internet use is necessary, therefore the students have to search for information trough it.
In other hand there are some tasks in which it is necessary to get a hand from peers instead like team work, discussion, and to give a speech to a public.
Some disvantages are that some peole don´t have a power cut and they don´t have the chance to hold conversations and interchange opinions. This missing process don´t allow to develop themselves.

Amy Greenhpuse´s video comment

The Amy Greenhouse´s video displayed by youtube is mainly about a protest against an airport expansion because in that area there is a park and this building would be dangerous for the environment.At the beginning of the video a man got dressed in a Amy Winehouse style says that her mum said to her that changes are always good and it would be great if she grew her bubbies. So this man goes to find out if changes are really for the good. So he goes to ask many people in the protest against this airport expansion.People protest against this and finally he founds out that changes are not good and he and the people protest singing "WE SAY NO NO NO".This video has an ecological intention so in this way it can be explained as a parody by changing Winehouse for Greenhouse.This video would appeals to all ages because it is so important to get people aware about the environment.

Hello everyone!The five countries I'd like to go:Italy cause I've always liked it and because I am descendant of Italians. I'd like to go to Venice, working there for a while and study Italian (but I am trying to learn some words by myself right now).England: I'd like to go there to study something related to Linguistics, Phonetics or Literature and of course improving my English. And whay there?, because I like the British accent.Canada: I am curious about to know what there is above United States. I 'd like to go to Toronto and Vancouver. I think it must be so interesting to be there because two culteres meet there.Australia: I have heard that owns a good standard of living (quality of life), low delinquency, security, low rate of unemployment, and in addition Chile has signed agreements with this country to work there. So I'd like to take the chance to go there in a future.Japan: Cause I'd like to know its culture, because it´s something totally different to the western culture and I like to know different ones. Besides that I'd like to vistit to a friend I met in Orlando.
